Terje Grimen, also known as Tegson, is a Scandinavian artist who has made a name for himself in public space and fine art. With his artistic journey rooted in Bergen's graffiti scene in the early 2000s, Tegson has evolved his style, cultivating a unique urban expression through abstract murals.
In 2013, Tegson embarked on a journey that took him across the globe, leaving a trail of vibrant colors from Queens to Shanghai. During his travels, he developed a special connection with the Arctic region, drawing inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes and engaging in People to People cooperation between Norway and Russia. These experiences ignited a passion for working in the Arctic, where he explored the intersection of art and nature.
In 2018, Tegson moved to the north of Norway to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway. This educational endeavor opened up new avenues for his artistic expression, leading him to discover the art of embroidery. By juxtaposing soft materials with hard-hitting themes, Tegson created a striking contrast that added depth and meaning to his artwork.
In recent years, Tegson has embraced various projects that expand beyond the boundaries of street art. His artistic aesthetics have transcended into public decorations, exhibitions, and even the fashion industry. This versatility has allowed him to bring his unique artistic vision to different settings, captivating audiences from various backgrounds.
Tegson's artwork showcases his technical skills and creative flair and serves as a platform for exploring social and environmental issues. Through his art, he raises awareness, provokes thought, and sparks conversations about the world we inhabit.
As Tegson continues to evolve as an artist, his work remains rooted in his Scandinavian heritage while embracing influences from his global travels. His ability to fuse street art aesthetics with fine art techniques has made him a prominent figure in the art world, bridging gaps between different artistic realms and captivating audiences with his powerful and visually engaging creations.
