Collection: AMI Street Art

AMI (born 1972) is a Bergen-based artist and street artist known as Amistreetart. Ami is a self-taught artist who delights in all types of creative projects and enjoys experimenting with various media.

Freeform crochet is the most commonly used technique in Amistreetart's street art. Ami often incorporates textiles on mirrors with wood elements in her work.

With a crochet hook as her brush and yarn as her medium, Ami creates colorful fantasy figures that she places around city streets. Her goal is to bring joy and make the city a bit more lively.

The artist name Amistreetart is inspired by the Japanese word "Amigurumi." Amigurumi is a Japanese art form that involves crocheting or knitting small, charming stuffed animals. Much of Ami's art is derived from this art form.

The city streets are not Ami's only canvas; she also places her colorful figures in natural settings. Through this, she aims to create a connection between art and nature and to inspire people to experience the beauty of nature in a new way.
